Diagnosis of rare heart rhythm abnormalities which have clinical implications is carried out with the help of an event recorder. Patients are issued with these long-term mini ECGs for a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Monitoring over a period of up to 3 years can be carried out by means of an event recorder implanted beneath the skin of the patient’s chest. The records from the device are regularly evaluated.
